Kate MacDonald, born and raised in New Brunswick, has resided in Vancouver for the past fifteen years. She works almost exclusively in oils, attracted by the luminosity of the pigments and the alchemy of mixing mediums appropriate to the paint and surface. Her art reflects an appreciation of the everyday, a wish to capture what may go unnoticed, whether it be a grouping of found objects, or the view from a freeway in transit to a greater destination.
