ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I am drawn to photograph things that seem to have a particular silence around them. They might be considered common objects or ordinary scenes, but for me they are all mysterious.





Gary Haigh is a South Australian photographer who has exhibited in diverse venues at home and overseas. He has a long and loving involvement with light. He commenced photography while working in a scientific establishment, where he made and tested optical components and was shown how to use a camera and process the results. His work has appeared most recently in WetInk, an Australian journal for new writing; and Etchings, an international literary periodical. He draws inspiration from many sources particularly certain aspects of Eastern literature, contemporary jazz and classical music. His images can be viewed here and here
