Boxcar Poetry Review - Issue 37

We celebrate the body in this issue which marks the start of our 10th year of existence. Conjoined twins, bodies in pain, bodies in joy, bodies found, bodies lost, bodies found again. The self and the body it inhabits. We wrestle with the existential and the nonsensical in these remarkable poems which carry us and open a door for us to discover what lies beyond skin and bone and blood.

We are pleased to showcase poet and artist Madeleine Barnes's stunning images of figures and shadow from her ongoing Light Experiments series. To these wonderful poems and artwork, we are pleased to add two terrific conversations between poets. George David Clark and Michael Bazzett explore the landscape of dreams and the waking minds that craft poems. Wendy Chin-Tanner and Valerie Wetlaufer bring us into the world through a discussion of identity and persona, the intersections between feminism and mythology and history, and the ways in which serving as an editor shapes ones own work.
